During the wedding season, I receive many orders for exploding boxes with a cake.
These gorgeous boxes are in fact perfect addition to the gift, especially if the gift is - money.
On the sides of the box very often I make small pockets for cash :)
The beautiful little paper cake inside makes it even more adorable!
When it comes to decorating it I usually choose papers in light colors, here you can see Lemoncraft 'Blush' collection, then I look for embellishments matching my papers plus white pieces or die cuts.
Handmade, unique flowers are always good option but if you can not make flowers, I would go for
white, ivory, or cream Mulberry paper roses and smaller flowers in colors matching the paper.
I used Lady E Design cutting dies to die cut flowers and leaves. Flower4 001 to create a rose and Flowe 8 to make mint paper flowers, Leaves 8 for the leaves.
You can see a combination of paper ( mint flowers on the cake)
and foamiran (big rose on the top of the box ) flowers.
Super pretty and easy to use are laser cut chipboard elements,
on my box I used Bloomar Designs chippies - heart, bride & groom:
Add elements like lace, string, pearls and your box will be delicate and romantic!
What to use to decorate Wedding Cake Exploding Box?
- papers in light colors
- flowers and embellishments matching the paper collection
- lace, string, intricate die cuts
- laser cut chipboard elements
- microbeads, pearls, glitter
