hello!
Let's create together!
Today I'm coming to share with you a masculine birthday card that has a slide-in gift card holder. I have taken a lot of photos to show you each step but the video tutorial for this type of card is also coming :)
Some of the products I used are very old but at the bottom of the post, I include links to similar products!
I started with a card base of the same size as my die-cut frame - Lady E Design Frame 2 - you can use any other frame or create one, for this frame I added tape on all 3 flaps and will attach it to the card base.
The side that is not stuck to the base is now on the top, later I will slide in a gift card holder there, but to be able to do it I need to create a composition that is kind of floating :)
I ripped two strips of paper, adhere them to each other and now going to adhere them to the card base. The width of the strips is the same as the width of the card base. I applied glue only on both ends as I want to attach it to the frame but not in the middle.
This way I'll create a composition attached to the strips, not to the card base.
I start with a large tag, you can choose any other big element that will be a base for the next layers.
To support the tag, even more, I decided to add a few pieces of chipboard, which also add texture and interesting detail to my card.
Then next pieces, here you can add whatever you want to use, I usually choose gears, clocks, tags, cards for masculine cards, and sometimes flowers, the truth is that so many times I'm not sure what to put on this type of card so I go with the things I like :D
I found a lovely light bulb dies in my stash, I remember buying them last year but didn't have a chance to use them yet, it looks perfect here!
When the card is almost ready I die cut the gift card holder. I used the same pattern paper as the background paper.
This way the gift card holder is hidden behind the composition.
Easy to pull out, I attached the thick string that also prevents the gift card holder from sliding to the bottom of the card.
How do you like this idea? Let me know :)
